I Go Too

“Mommy has to go to work.  Bye-bye,” I said to two-year old Ava as I began our hug-and-kiss ritual this morning.

“I go Mama too,” she urged.

“No, baby I’m sorry, mommy’s going to work,” I replied and kissed the top of her head.

She looked up into my eyes, lifted her hands, and told me in a matter-of-fact voice, “I go work too.”

  1. I remember those days, since I’m a single mom. It was heart breaking wow, this just brought back memories!!! I’m so glad she’s an adult and married and I don’t have to do that ever again.
