Miracle Baby. Praying for Your Unborn Twins, Week 28

My dear friend’s baby is 28 weeks old today. He’s a miracle baby, born early at 25 weeks due to preeclampsia. He’s close to 2 pounds, and that’s reason to celebrate! It’s amazing that today’s technology will allow him to grow up into a normal healthy man. For now, his parents’ emotions teeter-totter with his weight loss and gain and developing lungs.

If your twins are still in the womb, give thanks the Lord has allowed them to percolate a wee bit more this week. If the Lord has allowed your babies to come into this world early, have faith dear one. God is in control.

As I think of my friend’s baby boy, I am overwhelmed with the gentle voice that God is sovereign. He is in control even when we don’t understand why. This pain and worry we feel are filtered through God’s fingers of love. He allows us to endure hardship as he refines our hearts and souls to trust Him more. This thought feels huge to understand and very painful to experience. Oh, but He is sovereign, my sweet friend.

Remain steadfast, and trust in what you cannot see or even understand. He is faithful, and in the pain, draw near to Him. Run to Him. God has never left you alone and never will.

My Prayer
Father, thank you for your word and your truth. Let it resonate within my soul, even when I cannot feel it. Lord, I trust that you are in control, and I trust that you are at work. Oh help me in my unbelief. This child, these children, are yours, and for a little while, you’re allowing me to raise him. This baby is in your hands, let him grow and mature to work for your kingdom. Father, I ask in the name of Jesus that you grow this child be strong and courageous man for you Lord. We thank you Father for the lessons you teach us through hardship, only increase my faith Lord. Increase my faith in you.

Lord, for the brokenhearted mother who is praying earnestly for her child, take her upon your wing Lord. May she rest her weary heart upon you. Give her strength so she can endure. May she walk with a steadfastness and an awareness that you are her strength and foundation.

Scripture

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings likes eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:41 NASB

And we know that God causes everything (good and bad) to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NASB

I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name…I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does things…God is with you, and he is the only God, there is no other.” Isaiah 45:3,7,14 NLT

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NASB

  1. It must be so hard for your friend and her husband to not be able to really *do* anything! I can only imagine what that’d be like to have a baby so tiny. Though I know the Lord has His Hands on that little one. 🙂
